Great North Run

The most anticipated half marathon of the year provided the last swansong of summer. Mainly in the sense that we had to run in uncomfortably hot conditions which did put a dent in anyone’s plans for a PB

Weather aside, a full bus got dropped off at the town moor before their waves got set off over the Tyne bridge and off down the north east’s finest stretches of duel carriageways. after much mild undulations their reached Mark Phillips and his expertly manned water station at 11 mile. Before dropping down to south shields seafront for the long run into the finish

Given the weather there were some grimaces going into the last mile or two however, hopefully, cheered up by the fantastic support from members of the club who were supporting at around the 20k mark.

Cronkley Fell Race

Agnes continuing her theme of off road races tackled the Cronkley fell race the 10-ish mile out and back with a challenging 500 metres of elevation in the first half. Thankfully with it being an out and back it was all downhill for the second half

no offical results for this yet so I am putting full trust in strava
